Christian J. Feldbacher-Escamilla

I am a faculty member (Akademischer Rat, permanent position) of the department of philosophy of the University of Cologne, Germany. I received my PhD in philosophy from the University of Düsseldorf. My area of expertise is within epistemology and the philosophy of science, where I am particularly interested in problems of social epistemology, machine learning, and inductive as well as abductive inference. My area of competence covers logic and the theory of definition and argumentation, metaphysics of science, ethics of science, philosophy of language, and history of analytic philosophy. I am editor-in-chief of KRITERION — Journal of Philosophy, managing director of the German Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP, as of the beginning of 2023), and member of the research group Inductive Metaphysics.
